What?s on Tap For Your Weekend?

11 years ago 0 2508 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi.... Working on it..Willis, Vincenza and Sonia...I have to say Boredom is problem for me also..

Working on it, Like you mentioned in a earlier post, the time has finally come to practice not smoking when I am bored and have less to do...I can so relate to this and it has been challenging for me today, thats for sure..I have been feeling it for a few days now..I wonder if others besides us who have quit feel this way too..and what they do to beat it?
This may be just me but I find that it does get a bit tiring trying to stay busy busy busy all the time..For me the challenge is learning to relax without smoking and also letting myself relax without smoking..So I think it boiling down to me letting myself just be..I know it sounds crazy but it is easier said than done..but now that I have been quit for over 70 days I think this is the next logical step....

Well it's 7 p.m. here in my neck of the woods and the day is almost over and I have stuck to NOPE for yet another day..
I will not smoke tonight either..

Signing off for now...

Hi Working, Please be vigilant. Boredom can be a game ender if we are not careful. It has taken me down in the past but this time I think all of us here are better educated and more aware of what we are up against. I know that you are.

Working On It,

If boredom is a trigger for you, would you consider one of the following distractions?

-Writing out a to-do list for the day
-Going for a brisk walk
-Doing a kind gesture for someone else
-Cooking some meals in advance for the week
-Light cleaning
-Reading about a topic you find interesting
-Calling a friend
-Making plans for the future

What do you think?

Boredom is definitely a trigger for me. I've been going nuts (relatively) both yesterday and today.

Hi Working On It,

Sounds like you have a good list of things to do to keep you busy this weekend (even though it might not feel as exciting - it is exciting that you are engaging in all these activities smoke-free!).

You have me wondering if boredom is a common trigger for craving a smoke?
Members,  did you find that doing more mundane everyday tasks affected your desire to smoke?

I hooked up with a group that plays board games on Friday night. Also, I finally signed up for the gym and have been a couple of times. I think I need to slip in at least one workout this weekend. Then do some paperwork that I've been ignoring all week. I'll probably also watch Suze Orman and revel in the money I've saved so far.

Wish I had something more exciting to report, but that's OK. The past month has had a lot of excitement. Maybe it's time to practice not smoking when I've got less to do, eh?

Another smoke-free weekend on tap for me, too!  After being gone for a couple of weeks, I'll have a torch in hand for a good part of the weekend, but after that, I'll tap a cool refreshing beverage as a reward!  Clink, everyone!!!

Have a great smokefree weekend.  Enjoy your reward, my suggestion would be buying a good book and settle in for the weekend and have a good read.
I am facing my second smokefree weekend, my plan is to do the housework, shopping (groceries) then off for a swim, the weather is meant to be horribile for sunday so will be warm inside watching tv, possibly may do some home baking.
