I will not smoke today! I'm finally beginning to feel better since quitting smoking and love my walk/run in the mornings now! Oh how I used to despise them at first! So this is progress.

Hey Will : ) Blue herons do have a prehistoric look to them. I've never had one in my back yard, or I'd run too, LOL. We have different predators here; our back yard dwelling eagles have been known to scoop up kittens to feed their eaglets, so my kitty only goes outside on her pink leash. Much to her chagrin but she doesn't realize how a tasty she looks for lunch!

What different worlds we live in Eyja. The first time I saw a Great Blue Heron he flew into my back yard in search of my pond fish. It was dusk so I couldn't see very well, I thought it was a Teradactyl and ran for my life !!!

Ya know, I saw a huge blue heron diving off a rock on my walk to the beach this morning. He was magnificent! My new 'morning walk' time used to be my 'morning smoke' time! What a difference it makes to be nicotine free; I love it! Eyja

Hey Bill : ) My old dog and I would love some smokefree company on our beach walk to day : ) I believe there may be a bit of a distance between our walking trails though, since (by your posts) it appears that you're somewhere on the East Coast of America, and I'm over here on the Pacific West (Vancouver Island, Canada). But you can journey along with us if you check out my Quit video. All the pix used are from my beach walks here and/or our local summer vacation spots in the Gulf Islands. The song is one I composed and is dedicated to my Dad : )

I will not smoke today! I will not drink alcohol today either because doing so can weaken my resolve on the days I feel vulnerable.It also has calories I don't need right now! So am walking in my new shape-up shoes & going for the endorphin high instead! Hope everyone else is having a great day too! Just say N.O.P.E.!
