Tips on Improving Organization (cont?d)

11 years ago 0 11213 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
In the past week, we’ve been talking about stress management. A great preventative strategy for stress is to buff up on our organizational skills. Here are a few tips:

•    Have a good filling system. Classify it by department, project, whichever works for you. Also be sure to label all folders and keep a master list of the names on the side or front of the file cabinet.
•    Buy and use a daily planner. This is particularly important at work. Depending on how many projects your working on or their importance, you can likely work on many different projects throughout the day. If you’re the type of person who likes changes, you can change what project you’re working on every hour. The number of times you repeat an hour on the same project in one day will largely depend on, again priority. Don’t forget to schedule you in your breaks!
•    Avoid two of the biggest timewasters: e-mail & phone tag! Dedicate one section of time once in the morning and once after lunch for e-mails. Return or make phone call at this time also.
•    Victim of the afternoon slump? Try an item with peppermint or cinnamon, both help increase alertness.

Any other tips from our members?
