Hey Red!!!

Congrats on your first 10 days of freedom!!!    It sounds like you have the Positive Mental Attitude required to totally kick that demon's ash!!!  There's still bound to be some bumps in the road ahead, but keep on taking it minute by minute and day by day!  Way to go!

FYI, you can get your quit meter going by going to "Settings" and doing some editing and then saving your settings.  Pretty quick and simple to do.

      Hang in there!

Day 9 at 12 noon..
Remembering which day of my quit that I am on seems to slip my mind now..It was so important during my last quits but this time its different for some reason..I think this is the final quit..I will not smoke again because I do not want to smoke anymore..I want to live and breathing is such a important part of living isn't it..I never want to sit gasping for my next breath again....I am so happy to be rid of them...

Congratulations everyone!  Keep staying strong, one craving at a time.  They will pass whether you smoke or not.  Research and experiment to see what works best for you.  For the first few weeks my main aids were carrots/celery and lollipops :)  It was also helpful to quit alcohol/coffee and to stay away from smokers if possible.  Exercise also helped for me.  I started exercising every few days and I'm now doing the P90x exercise program.  If you can quit smoking you can do anything!

Hi, my quit day was May 2.  Day 7 tomorrow......hell week will be over! So far my worst day was day 4 but I made it through ok in the end. Like everyone else says I do as well just take 1 day at a time. I do find myself sleeping in alot these days, I am not getting up until almost 9 every morning.
Last night I had a dream that I smoked and when I woke up this morning I really had to think about my dream, it felt almost real. It did kind of scare me until I realized it was just a dream. I was just wondering if this is a normal thing?

First week down. One day at a time. I haven't had an easy time, hard as H** some days, sometimes I just have to get through the minute, or three. I went to my mother's today, she smokes like a freight train and the smell made me literally nauseous; maybe that is a good thing. I am drinking more water than I ever have in my life, sleeping better and eating healthier as well. Who would have thought one step would lead to several others. I read your post Red, and it is my biggest fear that my heart or lungs will fail due to 30 plus years of smoking, at 44 I am not ready for that to happen. I watched a lot of my friends go in for unrelated surgeries end up on vents for days due to lung damage, not what they originally had surgery for. I watch my mother who is not old by any means struggle to breathe as she walks from one end of her house to the other. I DO NOT want to be that person. I am not getting any younger, and I am sure there is irreperable (sp) damage done but I am determined not to continue harming myself anymore. No matter how hard some of the moments get I will Not take another puff.. N O P E..
