I think i might have messed up.

Thank you Lolly. Quitting is never easy and everyone trying should know that. I'm not trying to scare people away that are thinking about quitting because it will be the best thing you've ever done for yourself. You just have to make sure you're 100% motivated to stick with your quit, i thought i was, boy was i wrong! This time it's going to be different. I went through so many hard times trying to quit this past time, from losing my car to an accident, to my mom having a stroke and me not being able to go see her. It makes it a lot easier to have the support of so many wonderful people. I will say this, if you're not a part of this site and you're reading this post, YOU CAN DO IT!

Dear Kristen,

There is no thinking about it!  You did mess up!

Saying that, it's great that you have come back and rejoined us again.  Most of us had many tries at quitting and it took us time to succeed.  The main thing is to work out what made you slip up.  Did starting again cure your problems?...probably not.  I suspect you thought it helped because you got the nicotine hit each time.  I do understand that many problems seem to be insurmountable without our crutch - a cigarette!  It's not true.

You have come through your problem time with great strength.  Now you need to summon that strength to continue your quit.  Be prepared thoroughly for those cravings.  Have coping strategies, no matter how silly they seem, and, more importantly, do whatever it is immediately to prevent that first puff.  One of my original quitting mantras was, "Whatever it takes!"

'I have so much to live for.'  You do indeed Kristen, and that's what must be in the forefront of your mind from now on. Use your own Mantra - (N.O.P.E) Not One Puff Ever!

Never Look Back!  The Future is Ahead!

Love Lolly.

KristenW88,

Welcome back! It's great that you're committed to quitting. What will you be doing differently this time around with respect to coping strategies for cravings?

Good to have you back, Kristen......Every journey has obstacles that blocks or detours success.  However, these obstacles can never stop you unless you give up.  Never quit quitting.

Keep the Quit,

Dave

Thank you Jim. Hopefully it'll be easier this time to stay quit. Not as much stress.

Hey Kristen!!!

Welcome back!  You know that you can do this... you already did!  Like William said, all you have to do this time is commit to NOPE!  Easier said than done, I know, but you have already proven you can get through the worse of it with flying colors!  Like Lainey always says, when you are a non smoker, smoking is not an option!  And another fine expression here... having a cigarette is NOT going to make anything any better!

Glad to see you jumped right back on that horsie!!  Now, let's get 'er done!!!

                Jim
