Hey Ms Murphy!!!

Congrats on your decision to quit!  Looks like you keeping that Positive Mental Attitude so far!!!  That will take you a long way on this road to freedom!!!  Check out all of the tools here in the "My Program" section!  They really help, as does reading and learning from all your new quit buddies here!  Only 6 more days and Hell Week is over!

Hello Missmurphy,

Excellent! Glad to hear that you are nearly through with day 1! Continue to work your coping mechanisms, sip on that water! Stay strong and keep fighting the good fight.

Have you planned any rewards yet?

Hi All

Day 1 nearly over and hasn't been too bad.....had a few moments today but have dealt with it ok - it did help drinking 5 pints of water at work today to get my mind off it.....even though I had a few glasses of wine when I got it.....but hey ho - no smoking!!!  let's see what tomorrow brings - I'm on the wagon

Hi MissMurphy,

Glad you are here to give it another try!  You are in good company with people who have a common goal and strong desire to be smoke-free and help others achieve the same.

Do you have a plan in place for avoiding your usual triggers?  What will you do differently on the weekends to distract yourself from the urge?
A good place to start planning is to read through the information on this site.  Post often to let us know how you are doing and make a daily pledge to live a smoke-free day, every day!

Hi All

I've tried several times to quit, twice this year already - first time lasting 3 months, 2nd time 3 days - I've smoked for 15 years and am 35 years old - totally hate smoking but really feel at a loose end if I'm not....however - I've set the date for tomorrow and going to try again to stop!  I need help - I know how tough it is as have tried to stop well over 10 times in my years of smoking - I obviously want to stop but come the weekend or an occasion my will goes and I have a puff........then that's it, I think to myself I've had a puff now might as well buy a ten deck and on it goes!  I will keep looking on here as feel the need for encouragement - I am completely up for it but seem to break after a while - maybe I'm sadistic and like the withdrawal period (yeah right) but I really want to do it this time.  Nice to meet you all and share in your experiences........
