Can Not Believe it - After Over a year

12 years ago 0 24 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Goodness... today was hard.... Can not tell you how many times I walked to garage in an attempt to have a cigarette then talked my way back!

This is day Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues - 5 days!  And it was the hardest.... so far~!

Can't believe I have put myself through this AGAIN!

Anyone reading this.... once you have given up, do not convince yourself that you can have just celebrating puff, a friendly puff, a little stressed puff -   you could be right back at square one again.... like me! I sure have learned the hard way!

Oh well... roll on Day 6.

Fay, welcome back!  Take what you learned over the past year, update your quit plan, and let's get 'er done!

Glad you're back, fay.

It's easy, right? Just not one puff ever and you'll be okay. Do whatever it takes to not take a single puff.
Thanks for the reminder how close we all are to becoming smokers again. I'm a total believer that just one cigarette leads to ten, a hundred, a thousand, a million more. But also, one resistance leads to ten, a hundred, a thousand, a million more days of not smoking. You've shown yourself you can do this, so, as Tresa would say, put your big girl panties on and get the job done.

Welcome back, Fay. :) Congratulations on coming back. That's the most important step. You learned another important quitting lesson (I learned the same one, the same way, in March). So take what you've learned and this quit will be more resilient than your last--strong enough to last!

Hello fayroberts,

First of all I am sorry to hear that you had a relapse, now is the time to get right back into your quit. Use what you have learned in your 19 smoke-free months to get back into a smoke-free lifestyle.

Members, what tips do you have for getting back into your quit after a relapse?

With the help of this forum, I gave up for the first time in my life.... for 19 months.

And now I am back and needing your help AGAIN....

Can not believe it. Gutted.  Back smoking as heavy as before... Just took my brain to agree that just one with a friend wasn't going to hurt.... IT DID!

Oh well, I'm back on the Champix, put the last packet down tonight and have those 2 weeks of hell, so expect my 'rantings' in these forums!  Nice to meet all you new folk xx
