I made it!  It wasn't easy, but I realized we were going to argue whether I smoked or not, so I just buckled down and got thru it.  Thank God!  That was one of the situations / triggers I was worried about and was hoping it wouldn't come up until after a couple of weeks!  But I did it!  Thanks everyone!!

If you're mad enough at him, tell yourself, "Screw you, buddy. I'm not giving in, you'd love that wouldn't ya? I'm staying quit just to SPITE you. Oh you're in a very cheerful few weeks, my friend..." Hehehe. Sometimes spite can be a strong motivator.

But don't give in. You go back to smoking so easily. It's not just one moment of relief, it's a pack a day forever again. Instantly.

A real tough one Kristilu.   In my early days of the quit when situations arose like yours I just went outside and ran in circles, screamed and shouted, ranted and raved.............but I never got escited.  You can not control what other people do especially your spouse......always remember you allow people to do things so take control and do what ever is necessary for YOU.   Smoking will not change anything so suck it up and hang on to your resolve to quit.

Kindest to you

Hi Kristilu,
Don't cave! It was a tiff with my Bride that lead me back to smoking after more than seven months of not smoking my last quit. It took me years to get back on the non-smoking wagon after starting again. Had I only stopped and thought about what I was doing then! Smoking did not suddenly improve my relationships with others. Not smoking certainly did. Since everything I did revolved around smoking, I had to change the way I did everything -  minus smoking. Not smoking became my number one priority, no matter what anyone else said or did. This quit is for me!
Do whatever it takes to avoid the deamon!
It will get easier! You can do this! Promise!

Hi Kristilu,

Argh! That sounds frustrating.  But you can get through this.  This fight will be resolved, keep that in mind; remember your quit is your number one priority right now.  What can you do for yourself now? Are you able to do something to relax or distract yourself?  If you feel unresolved could you write down and organize your thoughts? Call a friend?

No matter what smoking will not make this better. Keep telling yourself that! We are here for you to listen (read) whenever you need us.

As if it wasn't bad enough that I was having cravings this morning, my husband decides to start a fight this morning!  and then left for work!  Leaving me with all of these emotions with no outlet!~  I have got to find a way to deal with this! without cigarettes!
