Hi all -  Should be called the' weakend'! Man, it's the hardest time for me to say NOPE!
JoDee - I can hardly wait to see your gorgeous Grandma/little Grandson pic! Hope you can upload it soon - I'm not sure if  this'll work for you, but I had to resize my avatar picture (I brought it down to 800 X800 pixels) so it was 450 Kb in total size - I find anything over 500 Kb won't upload from my cnx here. Maybe it's the same for your cnx? That's a great idea to have someone watch over your Quit at your friend's Bday party tomorrow!  Can't be too careful. Am so glad you have a plan. You can do it~!  My plan is to only have 2 drinks MAX, then soda/lime (ours is a pizza/beer bash neighbor party) But if you're going to be accountable to us at SSC, then me too. Hope everyone else gets through the Oscar wknd with NOPE too!eya

That sucks on the avatar problems, JoDee. Try contacting tech support..maybe they can help you. I'd love to see the pic of you and your grandson!
Hey, on the upcoming birthday party - I posted this list I carried with me when I was planning to do some partying with smoking friends in Alcibie's "Hello!" thread in Introduce Yourself forum. And asking someone to be your "quit guardian" is also an excellent idea. I am continually thrilled by your focus on getting this quit done and over with by planning ahead. Keep it up and soon you'll forget you even smoked for days, weeks, months at a time. Won't be even a thought. Really. Have fun at the party and enjoy the heck out of not having to stink yourself up with yucky cigarette smoke

hi all new quitters.  I am a little frustrated this evening cuz I haven't been able to update my avatar. I guess none of you really cares how cute my little grandson looks with his gorgeous grandma!!!!  ok here is the real scoop.  I have a big chalenge tomorrow.  It is one of my friends 50th b-day party.  I know some of my friends will be smoking.  There are plenty of my friends who don't smoke, so I need to appoint one of them to guard over me for the night.  I also one to be accountble to eya, cozmo, shy one.  I will do it guys.  I have come to far to fail.

That is super, JoDee!!! Patch free and it sounds like it hasnt been all that bad. Yes, exercise is a great way to get through the early stages and prevent at least some of the weight game

Glad to see you're doing so great too, Eya! Your positive attitude is very  impressive and will most likely make this endeavor both easier and successful

Wow! Hi Jazz :)  Such awesome support here from the other new quitters; great advice & generous welcomes from the more seasoned quitters, and inspiring encouragement from the Health Educators!
Yay JoDee!- I thought about you all weekend! So glad you're doing it; just like CT now! That nicotine will be out of your system in no time. How great!  Hey Roxie, Cozmo, Megan? Pray4Me and all the other newbies here. Glad  you're all here too and saying NOPE!

Good morning everyone.  Made it through the weekend, president's day, and filing my taxes.  My first week of my quit I gained 5 pounds, but I didn't mention that because I just don't care right now, but was pleasantly surprised yesterday, when I was back down three pounds, so back to normal.  I am focusing on excercise, because it really helps with the tenseness.  I am officially nicotine free.  Can't say I am drug free because alcohol has been my friend these past couple of weeks.  Plan to scale back on that this week, however my number one goal is NOPE, so anything food or alcohol that helps with that works for me.  How is everyone else doing?

You are all doing so great! As was mentioned, it is not the journey in this case, but the destination, to change up the old saying. No matter your method or its maddness, as long as you keep the quit, it's all good. I know there will be days when quitting seems like you are now really jeopardizing your health but don't give in- it will be worth it!

JoDee, how are you today? Check with your doctor if you think your symptoms warrant it.

Keep up the great work, all!

I haven't been this excited about a group of quitters in a long time. You all are doing really well and I'm pretty sure that you all have no cigarettes in your future....at least not in YOUR mouths ; )
