Mr Ed,

You dodged many bullets. You are a very wise horse & an inspriation to many, something of a comfy armchair around these parts.

Congratulations on the milestone. Isn't it amazing !

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

13 years ago 0 5009 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
On Sunday 13th Feb, I have been quit for 5 years. I will be taking my dear wife Mrs ED for a weekend break in Brighton (UK) as a reward for her putting up with my grumpiness while quitting. To those who don't know me here, I smoked 30-40 cigs when I quit and smoked for over 25 years. My advice to you, for what it's worth:

If you're like me, you'll find it hard to do this alone. read everything here and get the support of any loved ones, friends and work colleagues

You and only you can do this if you REALLY want to! But there is no magic bullet

Every day quit is a day to celebrate. Reward yourself, even in small ways!

The day will come when you realise that you never wish to smoke again. Don't ask me when, though I understand that it's likely to be a Tuesday

The day will also come when your loved one/friend/work colleague will forgive you for all your bad moods while struggling with your quit  (I hope)

Good luck to all of you    ED
