Absolutely zero desire for a smoke today, but that's only because I killed an entire pack in about 3-4 hours last night.  So I will "win" today, but can take no credit for it.  I am actually looking forward to feeling human again (if I ever do!!) and getting back into the fray.  For today, at least, I'm definitely on the disabled list.

Thanks for the post, Don!  I, too, am grateful for the minute, the hour and the day that I have survived smokefree!  There is no magic bullet, no panacea that takes away the thoughts, craves and desires regarding nicotine.

I, however, am coping, adjusting and learning to enjoy life without a smoke;  without a wheeze;  without a cough and without begin a victim of the habit/addition for 600+ single days in a row.  Here's to winning another day!

Keep the Quit,

Dave

Hello everyone. peteg this thread's for you. I don't know about anyone else but I consider that the most important thing I have is today. We can stay smoke free for 5 minutes , an hour or a day when looking a month or a year down the road would seem unsurmountable if not intimidating to say the least. Whether we're new here or have been here for years we win our recovery from nicotine addiction one day at a time. A day won ( especially the first days ) no matter how trying are an awesome acheivement. So this thread is for anyone who isn't smoking today whether newbie or old timer. Newbies sign up and join in. We can accomplish in numbers what might seem impossible by ourselves. We'll help each other get a handle on this smoking conundrum. If we don't smoke today we're winners and the prize is today. How about you ? breather
