Meeting a smoker

Hi Lance,

Great to see you!

Great responses everyone.  Everyone makes a very good point.

Lance, you are doing amazing in your quit.  I can't beleive you are almost at the one year mark! WOW! Time flys! With that being said only you know what you can handle and what is important to you.  If you were to move forward with this relationship how would you ensure that it will not interfere with your quit?

I can tell you from my own experience that being with a smoker puts a toll on you more than you can imagine. And since I am married to one (and we were both smokers when we got married) it would be completely unfair of me to try to change his mind. But you, on the other hand, have a choice. You can make the quit smoking part of the new relationship. See how this works. As I have to agree, it will be a challenge for you at times.
Keep the quit
Cristina

+ 1000 I'm sorry but i tend to agree with Ron. A situation like this will lead to the inevetable. Maybe not at first but it will eat away at you untill you eventually slip into the all too familiar 'smokers world'

IMHO don't go there! All my smoking friends I spend serious time with led me back to smoking. Won't do it again....

Just that, I wonder how I should handle the posibility of having a friendship, which could turn in to something more, possibly. It's way soon, but never thought of it yet. I just assumed since I dont smoke anymore, I would meet the same. Boy is life complicated. Thoughts?
