Hi Gang,

For the most part, the move to our new building is over!  I am still waiting on some new equipment to arrive and I can't do part of my job without it, so I am still doing some work at the old building and unpacking stuff here in the new one!  At least I have gotten my teaching area set up and just finished teaching the first class of the semester!

The good thing is the rest of the department is all moved in and I no longer have to focus on helping out with that transition.  Now I can concentrate on getting some long overdue job orders completed and getting my new lab set up.  Probably the best thing that I have learned going through all of the long hours and stressful situations is that I didn't have to resort to smoking to get  through any of it!  Did I think about it???  Yes!  But I am a non-smoker now and damn glad of it!!!

So, I'll still be scarce for a while, maybe another month or so, but I'll definitely have more time now to hang out with my quit buddies here!!!  Hope your move is going well, Homeboy!

Thanks for the update Jim.  We will be moving my Campus into a new building around mid August so I will learn first hand what you are talking about.

Hey Gang!

Just a quick update...  I have gotten 95% of the shop moved to the new building!  Since I am getting new major equipment, I didn't have to move the ones being replaced.  I'll still have to do a majority of my work in the old shop until the new equipment arrives late next month!  UGH!!!  Now I'll be bouncing back and forth between buildings for nearly 2 months to keep everyone happy!

I've logged in nearly 40 hours of overtime per week the last couple of week,  as has the wife and we're both dragging a "bit"!!!  We're just keeping our eyes on the prize of a bit of time off at the end of the month!  So, other than being over worked and under paid, things are going well!

I did find an old cigarette on the floor way behind my desk in the dust and dirt!  I was happy to crush that sucker into dust, just like I did when I quit!  Felt good to do that again!  I hope you are all doing well in your quit and I hope to get back to normal here soon!

Just remember to breathe.... just breathe... it helps during the most stressful moments... then let out a nice exhale.. that helps too!

Good luck with the move!

Hey Y'all!

The move is progressing almost at freaking light speed!  I was scheduled to move today, but logistics weren't in my favor.  I grossly underestimated the amount of time it would take to pack this place up!  There was "stuff" hidden in cubby holes from the last glassblower that I have never seen before!!!    I should be all packed by tomorrow and ready for the move Monday!

Anyways, the movers are really moving us fast and we'll all be moved by the middle of next week, except for our plethora of chemicals!  The 6 week move has been condensed into 3 weeks and we're all about to drop from the long hours!!!  The one thing that I  AM  thankful for is that I no longer have to have a smoke after every stressful occasion!!  I'd probably be smoking 3+ packs a day right now!!!  Thank you everyone for helping me to avoid that!

Well, another few very, very busy days ahead and then hopefully things will calm down and I can begin to catch up with all of you again!
