I'm with Kiwi on this one....

1. Don't smoke that first one!  (it'll lead to #2, #3, and so on......) The first one makes or breaks the deal and in this case it's a dealbreaker   so don't do it...!!!

2.  Find a way to keep your mind occupied.  All it takes is 5-10 minutes for a craving to subside.  Occupy your mind so that the next craving isn't so bad, and so on, and so on.......  eventually you'll be free because you made your quit happen one craving at a time

3.  Reward yourself!!  When you beat those cravings you should reward yourself !!  The money you are saving by NOT smoking is worth the reward.  Even if you are using an NRT, you still deserve a HUGE reward because YOU are making YOUR quit happen. No one but you can do that!

That's my advice ....

(1) Establish and maintain your own personal relationship with a good and just God.

(2) Realize that one has to be a camel before becoming a lion. What I mean by that is what Friedrich Nietzsche said. You first have to be a beast of burden, learn all you can, let the knowledge burden you if need be, before you can break away and become a creator. So you must know the rules and which ones can be broken before breaking any. In the absence of that knowledge, you are likely destructive rather than creative.

(3) Recognize human frailty. Realize that as Harper Lee (To Kill a Mockingbird) said, "Some people are so worry about the next world that they haven't figured out how to live in this one." Do not be more exacting then God. It'll make your time on earth miserable.

Members,

Throughout the trials and tribulations of life we are fortunate to learn significant life lessons and become more knowledgeable and wise. If someone you cared about asked you for your top three pieces of advice, what would be the three things you would tell them?
