Travelling and staying quit

14 years ago 0 37 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I experienced a crazy, tough week this past week.  Not only did I just get through 2 wks, I had to travel for work.  I thought I was going to be okay but as soon as I got out of my routine at home...WHAMO...out of no where, it was like I never quit.  I forgot how much extra time you have alone in a city where you know no one and the huge, crazy thoughts of having a smoke were bouncing around in my head...no one would know if I had one.   Then I thought, I WOULD and I would be so disappointed in myself.

To add to this work trip, I went to a girlfriend's wedding.  Needless to say, the drinks were flowing.  I am proud to say that I didn't have one puff.  There were smokers there but I stayed far away...and I had my patch on.  It was nice to wake up the next morning with only a slight hangover...minus the "smoking hangover"...did anyone every get this?  IT IS THE YUCKIEST FEELING WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE YOU LICKED AN ASHTRAY BEFORE YOU WENT TO BED!!  So nice to not have that feeling.

I am home now and back into my routine - and very happy to be back.  Now I know I can do this...one craving at a time...one day at a time.  I am a non-smoker!!
