Well,  I "think"  I would try to go for some muchies..maybe there are some veggies and dip..  Would try to eat something before I put alcohol on an empty stomach.  Sip on a drink.. and go for some bottled water (I'm not much of a drinker anyway) and knowing the alchol could ...wipe out my intentions of not smoking.  Tell friends i have not smoked for ____days. be proud ..

Hoping the smoking group has their own area.. and I will try to avoid that area.  Get in the water..
Offer to help the host and hostess...

Well at this point in my quit I think I would go to the party because you can't avoid smokers and triggers for ever. I think it would be worst for me to stay home and miss the party, then I would feel down and want to smoke more.   Before going I would do a lot of self talk and say o.k time for some real ...will power... I would try to stick with the non smokers  and for myself it would be easy because for the last 6 years that I smoked, I was a closet smoker   and only smoked in the garage and only in front of my husband.  So the hard part for me would be  to stay away from the garage  once I got home.

Set-up:

Hot sunny day outside
Friday afternoon
Everyones off early
Jimmy's pool is open
Drinks start at 3
Potluck (bring munchies)
The whole gang will be there
You really want to go

The triggers are all there!  Alcohol, cigarettes and great "bad for you" munchies!
