Hey I add my congratulations to everyone who has a quit date looming, whether you post here or not.  It's so huge to take that step, and just getting to that point where you rationally start believing in yourself, get that dose of 'I-can-do-this-itis' it's something to be proud of.

Now get on and take that SECOND step all you would-be smoke free supremos!

Everybody here at the SSC who hasn't smoked today!  Whether its been one hour, one day, one week, one month, one year, or longer since you've last had a cigarette, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I see quitter's stats in the 2,000 or 3,000 or longer smoke free days and I think "WOW, they are so far ahead of me!  I'll never get to where they are".  But you know, I remember August 19, 2008 when I had my last cigarette, and I was in amazement of folks with 30 days smoke free.  And I look at my stats now and am so happy at what I see.  I know that one day I'll have stats in the 2,000 smoke free days!  So for all the newbies, don't be upset at yourself when you see stats in the thousands.  You picked your own special time to quit smoking.  Your day will come when you have the same stats!

It's one day at a time.  It's N.O.P.E.  It's looking the nicodemon in the face and telling him he no longer controls my life.  It's knowing that even in the most stressful situations smoking won't fix anything!  It's looking at how much money I haven't spent on smokes and how many days I have added to my life.  It's all good!

We all get onto the smoke free train at different stops, and some of us jump on and off a couple times, but our destination is the same!  Rewards for everybody who doesn't smoke today!

My Mileage:

My Quit Date: 8/20/2008
Smoke-Free Days: 635
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25,400
Amount Saved: $6,350.00
Life Gained:
Days: 97 Hrs: 18 Mins: 38 Seconds: 5
