Hi Roses,

You have received some really great support and feedback from your fellow members. You've reset your quit date, now prepare for this accordingly. Write down all your reasons for quitting, have an emergency coping plan for cravings, work through the online program and of course post often!

Strive forward and lean on us for support!

I can only agree with what the others have said here - only you will know when you are ready.  Whatever you do, please remember this simple truth (though difficult to achieve): you can only quit smoking when you want to quit more than you want to smoke.  Then you will find the right stuff within yourself to get it done!  Those 35 days will serve you well next time around.

Wishing you all the best.

Hi Rose.  We are ready when You are. I think I changed my quit date 2 times.  This quit is for and about YOU.

Make sure you are prepared. especially the first few days.  Remember this is an Addiction, so the Craves, and the little monster in your head .. will throw tantrums like a 2 yr old trying to get nicotine.  You have to walk away, the more you say No, then the moster is not so loud, the craves turn into urges, or little triggers. The triggers are because you are doing something.. that you used to light up and smoke while doing it.

What I am working on this time.. is an attitude adjustment. Instead of saying I am quitting... I am telling myself I am a non smoker, I no longer smoke.  After 3 days, the wheeze I had when i was going to sleep is gone.  I am keeping busy and actually getting more finished. as I am not stopping for a smoke break. I don't have to clean up ashes, or ash trays.

You just give a shout when you are Ready.. we are all here for you.

Bonnie

Rock,   Thanks for the response and advice.  You are right preparation is the key to success.  I was just to eager to get started.  I was getting ready and cutting back.  I am sure I will do better next time.  I long for being a non smoker.  I will never forget what it felt like to be one for 35 days.  I could breathe and I felt so alive.  One thing I do want to remind everyone here is never give up your quit.  You will live to regret it as I have and will always long for it again.

NOPE

Rose, you didn't let any of us down.  This quit has to be all about you and nobody else.  Take the next couple weeks to really plan out this quit.  My buddy Jim taught me that preparation is key to success!  Go through "my program" so you have a plan in place for the stressful moments.  Remember that smoking isn't going to fix, cure, reduce, eliminate, repair, or replace anything!  Read as much as you can as there is a wealth of knowledge on the SSC site.  Use the search feature to see how other members have dealt with quitting.  The temporary inconveniences of quitting will yield HUGE permanent results!  Stay close as you approach June as we'll all be rooting for your success!

I am not doing to good tonight and will be changing my quit date to June and my quit meter if I can figure it out.  Maybe I will do better in June.   Sorry for letting everyone down and my self also.
