Thanks to everyone for your replies. They are very helpful. My mood is starting to turn around now, and I am able to actually focus and concentrate at work. I am definitely hanging tough!
Congratulations!!! It's hard and it takes a lot of guts to be where you are right now. Things do get better. I call this the "I just lost my best friend blues." Trust that it is the nicotine addiction that makes you feel that way not the dip. The nicotine will try to convince you that life without it is not worth much; however, I have only quit for two months and don't feel that way at all despite the fact that I did believe that life was not worth $hit without ciggarettes at first. It will eventually pass.
I was a smoker not a dipper but think about this for a second. To a smoker the concept of chewing and dipping seems very strange. To a chewer or a dipper the idea of putting paper filled with tobacco in their mouth and lighting it so they can inhale it seems very strange. It's only because of the form of nicotine that we are addicted to. Soon you will see that it's all strange and that the tobbaco companies had us all fooled.
Stay strong Moose. Your better than this.

There's an old trick to keep the mouth occupied when there's not much food or drink about... find yourself a good-looking little pebble and put that in the spot where you kept your clump. It might help you through the first few days now that you've quit chewing.
