Miss Marple Now I'm sure I don't want you to get mad at me. lol  Sure wouldn't want to get bit. Sparky , Thank you for the well wishes. H.A.L.T. saved my quit a couple of times , the Anger part anyway. I know how easy it is to get any of the four. I've lost quits before by being overtired , would have been easier to just go to sleep. By all means be my slogan buddy again  I'm not going to bother you about it  but I'll only say when you're ready come and join me again on the water wagon , ok. Thanks again MM and Sparky , you're awesome. breather

Breather, my H.A.L.T. buddy congrats for being our HOF.  You have added so much here and I am so very proud of you.  You are a great example of H.A.L.T, maybe I should change my back to it.  Anyway way to go and now keep leading the way.  Oh, and I do remember when MM bit the steering wheel, still think about that LOL

Keep the Quit

Awwww....your post reminded me of some of my 'smoking' and 'quit' antics.  During one particular quit in 2006, I was craving so bad while in my car one day and was mad, sad and a myraid of other emotions, that I actually bit my steering wheel so hard that I left teeth marks!  I still have the same (work) car---with a steering wheel cover on it.  I gave myself a verbal warning for destruction of government property and evidence tampering!  Anyone else I would have carted off for a mental evaluation...
This particular quit has been a (wee) bit more tame---thank goodness!

Thank you Spacecas. You're the most important person here. One day at a time you're going to beat this addiction. Look at it as you're just not smoking today. One by one the days add up. The local store here closes at 8 PM so early in my quit I knew if I could make it til 8 I couldn't get any cigarettes unless I wanted to drive 50 miles to get some which I didn't. I'd normally just go to sleep and know that it was another day won. I've been told that nicotine is a wonderful drug as long as it isn't smoked. Tabbyh  Look at you !!! One day is huge , 65 days is 65 X huge. Yay for you. Jan , Where does the time go ? Seems like yesterday we were celebrating your year and now it's more like two years. Awesome Jan. Last but certainly not least our dear Miss Marple. Thank you for being here. Your wit and sense of humour has got me out of the funk I was in more than once. I always know how many days quit you are because it's 20 more than me.  Know that you're special here. I was having a " remember when " moment this morning. I'd be eleven or twelve at the most and already addicted. Anyway I woke up to find myself without cigarettes and a 5 mile walk to the nearest store. It was a scorching hot and humid day and I was so dehydrated and craving badly. I had to walk through basically a swamp to get there. I was craving so badly that I actually broke down crying about it. I had just enough money to get a pack with nothing left over for a drink. Can't remember how many times I made that walk. Just a dumb addicted kid. But not today.  Excellent breather

I have been out of town and I am just now seeing this.
CONGRATULATIONS, BREATHER!
You certainly have earned this honor!  You set such a good example here on the boards, and, apparently on the home-front as well!  Congrats to your friend on his 4 month quit and a great big hug to you because your stats, as of today, read:
