Wanted to stop in now to let everyone know how my day went because I will be going to bed early tonight....Well I am doing great..I have had a few passing thoughts today about cigarette's in general but have not wanted one all day...I finally got my mind set straight and realized that the battle is all in my head...So as long as i keep the thoughts as just passing breezes then I will be ok..

Gotta say thank you Nick for the advice and the straight truth..It is working like a charm..

Also thanks to everyone else here for all the support and great advice...I took it all in and between me and everyone of you,I do believe I am going to be ok through this and I am going to ditch this addiction...No, wait  I already have ditched this addiction at midnight I said good bye to it and now all I gotta do is not turn back..The past is behind me and now today and every new day I am a non-smoker..Feeling absolutely great today...Everyone stay strong and well...

I have not smoked or had any kind of nicotine for 18 hours and 58 mins..

Hey Spacecas your going to do this. That weed is not stronger than your mind, and its certainly no stronger than your will. You know where i am should you want to moan gripe and whinge. A good bit of moaning, griping and whinging always makes me feel better, and who better to do it to than a stranger.

Right behind you mate.
Nick

Well it is finally July 30th,2009...It is now 12:05 am my time and I have been a non-smoker for 5 full minutes..yay me..

I want to thank all of you for your support and for all the advice you each have gave to me..I could have never got to this point without each of you..Seriously you all on this site means alot to me and I am very thankful i found this site..

I have done alot of preparing to get to this point..There is no cigarette's in the house and no way for me to get any eighter..I have made sure of that..I  know i can do this and I am all reved up and ready  for what ever this addiction might throw my way..The kids made me lots of signs today..(No smoking,Do not smoke,Mommy we love you please don't smoke)They are ready and set to be my personal little guarding angels against this addiction..The husband is ready to be really supportive and refuse to give in to me no matter what i throw at him also...All of you are here and ready for when and if I need you...And most important I have GOD guarding over all of us and ready to carry my burden if it gets to hard for me to carry..So there is no way i can fail as long as I stay one step ahead of this nasty life draining addiction...I just wanted to check in and let every one know that the time has come and I am over ready for this journey into a new better life...I will check in tomorrow after my daughters Birthday party to let you all know how I am doing...I will also be here to give back to every one all the support i have received..Stay well everyone and together we all will beat this addiction..

Just thought I would add that right this minute i have such a rush from the sense of freedom and relief that this day brings ...I sure hope this feeling will last because if it would then it will be no problem to beat this hands down....

That note should be your mantra to live by these next few weeks. A reminder of why you have chosen to rid yourself of this awful habit. You seem very well prepared and very committed, so stay focused and stay strong. Come here and share, ask for help  or just simply tell us all how your quit days are going.
We are all 100% behind you and I know your children are too- so onwards and upwards SpaceCas lets get this done.

Hey Spacecas!

Great note!  I know that it is heart-felt and I also you keep it close to be able to read whenever you need some inspiration!  One thing I did want to offer...  Don't even feel sad about losing the demon as a "friend"!  Fill your heart with JOY that you are ridding your life!!!  Yes, there will be "empty" feelings, just try to keep a Positive Mental Attitude about through the whole process!  You have been doing pretty well about that so far!

So, every time you think you are feeling sad and empty, put a positive spin on it!  Tell yourself that it's your enemy trying to take part of your life away from you again and that you are soooo happy to be kicking that demon's ash!!!  You can choose to feel sad or lonely, like you've lost your best friend, or you can chose to always rejoice in your freedom!  Rejoicing is a much better feeling!!!

Right on Spacecas. This is an amazing note, one that should be printed out and put on your fridge or somewhere where you can refer to it often as a reminder of all of the reasons why you are motivated and determined to remain smoke free.
You can and will do this!
Remember, we're here to help and support you every step of the way
