Hello NOPE  Good choice of names. Welcome back. Like Ashley said do this one minute , one hour , one day at a time and one moment at a time if need be. If you haven't read "the book" you might find it worthwhile. Ice water , ice water and ice water. Excellent  breather

Welcome back.

We are glad to have you!

That's right just do it one minute, one hour, one day at a time.  Little by little you will get through this.  You did it before, you can do it again and this time it will stick!  Work your way through the program again and keep posting.

You can do this!

Hey all,

I guess it has been a few years since I wrote - my original quit date was October 9 2006, which I believe lasted just over 2 years and I credit much of my success that time to this site and the people behind it. Anyway - over the past year I have graduated from "social smoker" (yeah yeah - I know that doesn't exist ;)) who smoked once or twice a month to full blown smoker - I mean taking 4 breaks a day at work to feed my nicodemon. I remember how hard it was last time (since I had been smoking for 6 years prior to that quit) and promised myself I would never go through that again. So before the addiction robbed me of all self confidence I jumped back on the wagon - Sunday night.

Looking at the long term freaks me right out - I can't picture myself in all situations without a smoke in my hand however I am confident that for the next 5 minutes, and the next 5 after that I will not smoke. Is that ok??

I am trying to recall the things that helped me through last time..

Oh and by the way last time and this time are without any meds/aids (except, of course you guys :) - just the supposed mental preparedness termed "cold Turkey".....

thoughts??
