Hi Ashley,

I drank lots & lots of water I drank from the bottle I found opening the cap took that few seconds I needed to make me think and focus on my quit. also I walked a lot my poor dog thought all her birthday's had come together but she love it and it helped me a lot. I have mantras I used and little prayers I still say.

Lillyput,

Congratulations on doing so well in your quit! That is amazing, very inspiring.  Thank you for sharing your encouraging words with the SSC.  Aside from going on SSC what were a few of the coping strategies that worked for you?

Keep posting!  We love to hear from veterans \

It’s been almost a year since I called in SOOOOOOOOOOO   hope you won’t mind if I just say hello and send best wishes to all of you.

I look in every now and then and it’s great to see lots of old familiar names and lots & lots of new quitters.

I am 533  smoke free I just know I could never have got this far without all the help and support from all of  you at SSC you  got me through so many difficult times and I would just like to say a big thank you to all of you.

It has been a hard year with lots of sad and difficult times and I had many times when I was tempted to smoke But thankfully I never did.  Please God I never will.  By far I think this has been the greatest gift I have ever given myself,   I have given my self a fighting chance to healthy for a lot longer than I would  had I not made the decision  to stop smoking. I wish all the newbie’s the very best of luck with there quit,  Please believe in yourselves and know it can be done I was a heavy smoker for 40 years and now it feels as if I never smoked.  I seldom ever think about them having said that, I always remember the advice of the elder quitters to never get complacent and always watch for the triggers.  To the elder quitters by this I mean all the long time quitters you are the BEST.

Love & best wishes

Lillyput.
