Good job Tabbyth... I can see how empowered you feel now that you are kicking the nicodemon's ash without any help whatsoever. I still have about three weeks of the patches and I'll see how it feels then...
Keep the quit

Hi all... I've brought the thread back up just because I wanted to say that I have finally gotten off the Lozenges about 1 month ago...  It just happened..... I didn't plan it.. I didn't ween off...  I ran out and I just didn't go buy anymore....  the first day was a little annoying (but not as bad as Hell week) lol..  I've replaced them with regular mints... (which I have maybe 1 a day now if I feel I need something).  I am so greatful to SSC for just being here... and to all you members who day after day after day lend a helping hand...thank you...   I am soon going to be celebrating 6 month smobriety and I am so proud of myself.... It can be done... just keep saying NOPE.

Samuel is right on.  I used the nicotine gum for a day or two, and wasn't for me.  Therefore, I chewed regular gum for a couple weeks.... to give me something to do and keep my mouth busy.  Also negate any dry mouth symptoms.  Congrats on hitting the 12 week mark to get off the lozenges, you are doing fantastic!

I am a non smoker, I am a non smoker, I am in control... (how's that Jim?)

Samuel, thanks.. very good idea... I'll go check it out and see what I find.  I have been trying other mints and gum... and am able to substitute some of the lozenges with them... preparing myself slowly...

Thanks again all for all the support....

Hi, Tabby.

Have you tried substituting every-other-lozenge with something else?  There are lots of great lozenges out there like Vitamin C, Echinacea, etc., that are all very healthy for you.  You'll find them in the "cold and flu" area but there are lozenges that do not contain any cold medicine in them.  I have been using them just to prevent myself from getting a sore throat, plus I like them; they are like candy, haha.  I can understand you wanting to protect your quit at all costs; just try to slowly substitute them with something else.

Hope this helps,
-Samuel
