Thanks Tresa...I am glad I am on here too. I am doing really well and thank you for your encouragement! It is so nice to be in the majority of non-smokers isn't it! Congratulations on your success, well done! Everyone on here deserves such a big pat on the back!

Trillium this should bring a chuckle.

Here's the background. My cousin's son Chris and his wife Crystal just had a baby girl--their third child and first girl. At first, their 3 years old, Corey, was acting out when he found out that his family was having a new baby. Their oldest son, 8 years old CJ, seemed to very calm. But he's ignored the baby.  Well, here's what happened a week after the baby was born. Crystal was running errands with CJ riding in the back seat.

"Ma, let's talk," said CJ.
"Okay. What about?" responded Crystal.
"I feel my life is about to change," said CJ. "I'll be eight tomorrow. I already do chores and go to school. I don't know what more you want me to do. Now I have a little brother and a little sister to take care of."
"All we want you to do is what you have been doing," said Crystal.
"I don't want to change any diapers," said CJ.
"You don't have to. The baby and Corey and you are our responsibilities," replied Crystal. "Just keep taking the trash to the can and keep your room clean. That's all.
"Ma, don't have anymore babies," CJ finished. lol

Hi Trillium - Good for you!

Working on your plants keeps your hands busy while you get used to a smoke-free balcony and remember to breathe deeply while you are outside.

Keep in mind that you can only fight one battle at a time.  Don't worry too much about the weight until you are past beating down the cravings.   There is a forum on weight on this site if you need some moral support.

Keep it up!

Welcome Trillium  to the SSC. If you don't go outside with cigarettes you can't smoke 'em. Rearrange the furniture on the patio and read Allen Carr's book. Enjoy the birds and the trees. It's up to you but I'll be outside enjoying the weather. You're through the most terrible week of stopping smoking that there is. I just came inside for a break and now I'm off planting the garden. Gotta go.  breather 210 Addict 0

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the cyber hug and your humor...laughter is the best medicine! What would we do without a sense of humor to get us through the tough times in our lives!

I am going to the Nursery and reward myself for my 8 days with some more flowers for my balcony! Thank for your kind words and encouragement. It is so nice to know that I can come on the site and find support for the tough times! Congratulations to all of us "quiters"!!!!
