CRIPPLING PAIN

15 years ago 0 377 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
If it was just a small pain I'd say to wait and see if it goes away. But becasue yours if pretty painful I would go see your doctor.  There are many pains in that area that be related to needing attention. Some things I've seen people go in for are Appendicitis which is pain in that area to the right, Diverticulitis which is pain in that area on the left side of the body, and galbladder stones passing tend to cause on and off pain in those areas also. It could be anything and many times a certain area in pain doesn't necessarily mean it's afflicting something in that direct location because nerves get activated from remote locations.  Please check it out to be safe. Hi PB,

Although it is very possible that the sharp pains you are experiencing are your lungs healing themselves, these pains could be reflective of many other issues such as indigestion, muscular pain, pinched nerve or even something cardiovascular in nature.

Your best bet would be to consult with your doctor for further investigation such as an x-ray - just to be cautious and rule out anything serious.

Smoking does mask many symptoms and so once the toxins are out of the system, these symptoms manifest and could be indicative of something more organic going on in the body.

Do keep us posted on how you are feeling.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have noticed this type of pain on about 3 or 4 occasions since I have quit. I am getting what I can only describe as one of the worst, painful, feelings shooting through my chest, not in the area where my heart is, more like deep lung down around my lower ribs. It will come on out of nowhere and shoot from my back to the front, and it will repeat itself maybe 3 or 4 times, and then it will just go away. I said this has happened 3 or 4 different times, and it has, but its not in the same place every time it happens. I'm hoping its just my lungs healing themselves, but I must admit, today it scared me for a second, it was very intense.
