Bob, your post brought tears to my eyes, literally.    I'm so pleased to read how proud you are of yourself - I think a lot of us don't give ourselves enough credit sometimes, so thank you for reminding us that it's OK to be proud of ourselves.  This is one mighty battle we're fighting, but we're winning.  One day at a time.
Thanks for being such a valuable member of the SSC, and more importantly, thanks for being you!    Enjoy your 100 day celebration!!
Now, I'm off to explain to my co-workers why I'm all teary.

Congratulations Bob on your 100 day milestone. The beach is a good place to be.  Who would have thought 100 days ago that you'd be where you are now. Don't you like those even numbers ? The 3000 not smoked is looking good. In retrospect not smoking ( although tough to do ) was only a choice. I too have empathy for the addict that still suffers. That doesn't understand that it's possible to stop. Fortunately you've figured it out. Way to go Bob. breather 177 Addict 0

God it feels good to know I did this!!!!  100 days without a smoke......after 50 years with 2 packs a day.

I thought I'd never be able to stay Quit til I met the SSC and you folks.  All of you have been instrumental in my being here......each and everyone.  I thank ALL of you, from the longest to the newest Quitters....you all helped.  You're all a part of me now.

But......I did it mostly myself.  Just as each of you did and I think  that makes these milestones so much more important.  To know I am able to do it.  To know I am beating the addict on my terms and he's slowly losing the grip he had on me.  We all need to be PROUD of what we are doing......cause even though we're here and we talk and joke and help one another......We each have to go fight our addict on our own.  I'm so PROUD of myself and I'm so PROUD of all of you for doing it too.

I have a different outlook today about addicts.  I understand more what they go through.  I understand more how they got hooked.  I wish I had some magic to solve it for all of them.  But I don't.
It takes preparing for the hardest fight you'll ever have AND sticking with it AND holding your ground for LONG time.  I applaud those that have done it.....and those that have started it.  I applaud those that talk and think about it.  Their next step is trying it.  I applaud those that try and don't last and come back and try again.  That takes guts too.  I never understood that till I got here.

From the bottom of my heart( a healthier one too..) I thank you....one and all.......for being there for me in my worst times and my best times and all the in-between times.  I will do my best to keep you PROUD of me, now and long into the future.  I will pay it forward as often as I am able.  I will be me and I will be..........

Keeping the Quit
HUGGGGGGGGs and COOOOOOKIES
Bob

Deborah......you're so sweet to say those things.  Thank you!!  AND LOOK who's at 60 days......AWESOME girl!!!  You inspire with your life.  Be PROUD......

marivi......... How could I ever argue with a bee like you??.........  I'm relaxin and watchin the cabana girls with my friends at my side and you making me a drink.  How can I NOT have a great time???

Dave........It sure as hell wasn't easy for me or you.......BUT we did it!!!!!...  We are some bad non-smoking dudes...
I'm looking forward to the next 100 buddy......Let's get'er done.....
