Top 10 Reasons Why NOT Smoking Is Great!

15 years ago 0 802 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I just had a co-worker stop by my office- he's  looking for a home to purchase.  He said he made an appt. to go through one house, but it smelled so badly of cigarette smoke that he didn't get past the front door. He said the whole place would have to get re-painted before he'd move anything in.  He's not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, so it must have been horrible. (and to think my house was probably just as bad.)

Hi 10 reasons   #1 The reason I have my name here , breather 's breathing better now. #2 no more yellow fingers that I have to try and hide because I was embarresed of it. #3 No more coughing #4 Food tastes better #5 My blood pressure is lower now and the doctor says it's from not smoking. He's going to reduce the medication if it stays low. #6 Don't have to worry if I left a cigarette burning. Now I just go and don't have to think about the house burning down. #7 I don't smell now. #8 No more ashtrays to clean. #9 Smoking is a total waste of life. By smoking I was destroying myself. #10 is actually #1 again but I really don't want to suffocate. breather 147 Addict 0

10. I can smell my nice clean clothes!
9. More time to do what I want.
8. I don't have to brave the cold, windy, wet or hot weather for a smoke.
7. With all these smoking laws going around, I can go out to eat a nice dinner with family and friends I don't have to miss anything. (having to get up and leave the table and coming back you miss a lot of great memories)
6. Food taste so much better..
5. It's such a turn off to be a smoker.  Only people who wants to be around a smoker is a smoker.  Sad thing is that I never wanted to be with anyone who smoked, but I smoked myself.  Go Figure!
4.All the money I am saving!
3. I get to live longer and know that I will be able to spend time with my grandchildren and watch them grow up.. Great-Grandchildren born? (hopefully 20 plus years down the road!)
2. A longer healthier life for my son
Finally #1. I'm a better role model for my son!  Showing him that you can do anything as long as your try your hardest.

These are all great.  Angie you are doing awesome.  Keep up the fantastic work.

1) When I quit I really started to notice the stale smell on smokers, in the elevator, etc.  Although no one brought it up before I know that I'm a lot more pleasent to be around now without that smell on me.

2) The people that always ran their mouth have nothing to say to me now.  No matter how far you go in life it seems there are always going to be morons in your life that are going to treat you like you're the dumbest person on earth.  Now things are the way they should be.

3) I can show those people mentioned in (2) that the best way to help someone quit smoking is to be a positive influence.  Let smokers know that you've been there and things are going well.  I can't tell you how many situations I've been in since I quit where when I related to what they are going through and downplayed the ones that don't get it they asked thousands of questions on how they can quit too.  My favorite time so far was the girl that was cutting my hair and some other ladies that worked there too.  It was very interesting.

4) I used the money I saved to present myself the way I want to at work.  I got a few new suits, dress shoes, ties, etc.

5) I can keep up with my son now (well almost).  I enjoy running around and playing all the things I couldn't do before.

6) I feel great.  I don't wake up in the morning coughing and feeling crappy in the mornings.  I can workout with ease.

7) It makes me feel like...."hmmmm, what else can I do?"
