Hi Impala
Considering your height, weight and age, I guess you are burning 10 calories an hour
With 20 hours of your "move the recliner's handle" workout routine you can have a small milky way
Maybe you should try running around the recliner

I admire each of you on your progress in this thread.  I am currently basking in the glow of being tobacco-free, as the tire continues to inflates around by waist.

Marivi, how many calories am I burning when I move the handle on the recliner?

Keep the Quit,

John I joined Curves 2 years ago.  But, with this last mess up it showed in my workouts.  You know that sneaky little cough, and it is amazing how your energy goes a little at a time each work out.  So by this time next week the cough should be gone and the energy returning.  I have about 5# I want to loose, but they are not that important today.  I am pretty much at my goal weight and fitting into my clothes nicer   With spring and summer coming there will be a lot of outdoor things to do.

I need to put more fruit and veggies in my diet.  I love my carbs.

Sparky I think joining Curves will be fun for you. You will be motivated by others and have fun at the same time.

I would suggest that you meausre yourself besides just checking your weight. This is because a true workout adds muscle which is heavier than fat so in some instances you will see little weight lost but there will be massive size reduction.

First 5 lbs should be come off quckly.

GOOD FOR YOU SPARKY!!!
THE HARDEST THING IS TO DECIDE TO DO SOMETHING!!!. 30 YEARS AGO I OVERCAME MY FOOD ADDICTION; I WAS 240 POUNDS ANDE ONE DAY I DECIDED I DIDN'T WANT TO BE OVERWEIGHT ANYMORE. THE OTHER PART OF THE STORY IS THAT I FELL IN LOVE WITH CIGARRETTES, BUT MY EXPERIENCE WITH FOOD WILL TAKE ME TO OVERCOME THIS NASTY ADDICTION(I WISH IT WITH ALL MY HEART).
SO KEEP IT GOING, !!!!

Well I got weighed and measured Tuesday and the journey has begun again (sigh).  Got a new journal for 2009, walking, and working out at Curves 4 times a week and who said I didn't have a life.  LOL

Don't worry too much about your weight; you're doing the right thing joining curves. I'm running 5 miles 5 days a week and a 45 min pilates routine 5 days a week. I'm planning to join weight watchers, just in case the weight begins to show. I like that program because it allows you to eat whatever you want  as long as you comply with the amount op points you are allowed eery day; they even give you extra points if you workout!!!.
God bless you
