hi and welcome deb..........you have some namesakes just ahead of you in their Quits.....they'll probly be chiming in to say hi too.
First week is called Hell Week.........The physical addiction leaves you in 3-4 days and like everyone else, you begin the mental fight with your addict about cigs.  Watch him.....he is very tricky.  Stay ready to say NO to him.
It gets easier as you go...........I promise........
Keep the Quit

Deb, welcome to the SSC and congratulations on 2 days smoke free!  I know your kids and grandkids are proud of their grandma!  Preparation is key to a successful quit!  Please make sure you have gone through "my program" so you are prepared for whatever the nicodemon throws your way.  Have you put together a reward system to celebrate each passed craving, each smoke free day, and each smoke free week?  Treat yourself like royalty as this quit is all about YOU!  Read, read, and read some more.  Use the search feature on this site to look up experiences from other members.  Post as often as you need, somebody is always here to help!  We're all rooting for your continued success!

Great decision, Deb.......keep up the good work.  You are well-armed to fight.  You have an army of support to urge you on.
You have to do the heavy lifting, however.  Keep your guard up.....and your eye on the prize!

Breathe deep and enjoy the FRESH air of VICTORY!

Hello and welcome. Congratulations on 2 days smoke free. You're the most important person here. I would have never thought it possible to stop smoking but it is possible. Take it one day at a time and one crave at a time. Drinking cold or iced water when the crave comes really helps. Excellent. breather 138 Addict 0
