Hey Jackie

Good of you to come around and visit us.  I would strongly suggest that you look through the material here, there are alot of good resources to use here. You have been down the quitten road before and those experiences should serve you well.  I know the addiction is hard, but it does not have to be a life sentence.  I smoked for 37 years and quite frankly never thought I could reach cessation, but I did.  That is why I know it is possible for you.

Post here often and let people know what you are dealing with.  There are many good souls here who not only understand the things you face but also will offer you any support you may need...

stay well

Jackie, we're glad you found this site too!  So here's the admin part.  Go through "my program" so you are 110% prepared for this quit.  Preparation is keep to success!  Add your quit meter to your postings under "my profile" so you can track your progress of smoke free days, $$$ not spent on smokes, and how much of your life you regain.  Read, read, and read some more!  Use the search feature to find topics applicable to your quit.  Now for the fun part!  Set up a reward system!  You need to retrain your brain into how it realizes happiness!  Have a small reward for every craving that passes.  A bigger reward for each day you don't smoke, and a larger reward for each week you are smoke free.  Now I don't necessarily mean diamonds and furs, if thats you, GO FOR IT , but things like a long walk every night to celebrate a smoke free day.  Buying some good flavored coffee for your morning java?  A small piece of chocolate every time you don't light up?  Little things that give you pleasure are what I'm talking about!  As for your skinny white enemy, you need a replacement!  How about pretzel sticks?  celery sticks?  pickle spears?  Straws cut into the size of a smoke?  Carrot sticks?  and as Lainey says, LOTS of iced water.  Flush all those toxins out of your system!  We're all rooting that this will be your final quit!  N.O.P.E.!!!

Hi Jackie, you have picked the best place to come for help. Congrats on quitting! Do the program here, if you haven't already and start reading everything you can here. There is a great wealth of knowledge to help you!
I was quit four days before Hubby noticed, but then I had quit so many times, it wasn't a novelty anymore!
Lots of cold water, hard candy, straws, licorice, carrot sticks, gum, whatever it takes. You have done it before and you can do it again. Get yourself a list of things to do, rearrange the area you smoked in, it all helps!
One thing, though, those slender white guys are NOT your friends, they have been slowly killing you, so get mad at them!
Throw them in the trash where they belong! You will be so happy you did! Welcome to your new smoke free life!
 Not One Puff Ever! NOPE!
