Thanks for that post Lainey. It makes you think differently when the Nicodemon hits. We just have to starve him and feed the loving wolf. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 32 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 653 Amount Saved: $208 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 12 Mins: 59 Seconds: 37

Nice post. It makes this journey seems a little easier to handle. Especially good for brand new quitters. Nice stats too! Nearly 50 smoke free days. Keep that quit going strong!!!! Many of you will have seen this before. It may even have been posted at SSC before, but I thought I'd share it here today as a reminder for those of us who are encountering some challenges early in our quits. I doubt that the author was thinking about tobacco addiction when he/she wrote it, but they could have been... because relative to our addiction... it's completely true. --------------------------------------------------------- One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between the two "wolves" inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed." ---------------------------------------------------------- Which will you feed today? This hour? This moment?
