Hi AC,

I hear you about the cleansing.  For me in my own mind I need to not just stop smoking but stop the NRTs as well. So this morning I am riding without training wheels LOL ... I felt like I was ready to crawl out of my skin earlier but that seems to have passed.

Still feeling kinda crappy though, headache, light headed, etc ... funny though I seem to find it easier at home than I do at work right now.  I expected the opposite, however it just might be that at home I can keep myself busy doing what I want to do where as at work I'm desperately trying to focus and concentrate and not having much luck LOL

Thanks for the balloons Tresa

Have a great day everyone!

Sue

Sue, I quit cold turkey.  I know that a lot of people had great success with the NRTs and swear by them though.  My system just couldn't handle it.  Patches didn't help my cravings and gums, etc. just made me very sick to my stomach.  Plus, I felt like I needed cleansing.  If that makes sense.

Either way, reach for your patch, don't reach for the cigarettes.  Some of my worst days have literally been handled by saying to myself "I will make it through this day.  Whatever I do tomorrow, I do...but today I will succeed."  Eventually, you become propelled by the pride you feel in that (seemingly) small accomplishment.

Stay strong.
AC

Thanks AC and Josie

So this morning I called in sick ... and I am floating from one little thing to another around the house LOL .. I actually didn't put a fresh patch on this morning either ... I just feel like if I want to get control back it's all or nothing I guess.

Even though I know there are cigarettes in the garage and I am craving one, I don't really want one.  So I'm going to see if I can keep going without the patch.  If things get really bad I will reach for a patch before I reach for a smoke :)

Have a great day everyone!
Sue

You're doing great!  Keep working through it.  I completely understand the crave for a cigarette when you don't really want one.  Ridiculous feeling isn't it?  Something Breather said in another post...think of the craves as your body getting healthy...or some such (sorry Breather if I butchered that).  Don't give in.  Do whatever you need to get through these tough times.  It will get easier.  Here for you.
AC

OK ... feeling like crap this afternoon

Was feeling pretty positive this afternoon, however I'm feeling pretty down now.  I haven't slept well the past couple of nights and I know that that's not helping.

I know the craving for a smoke is there, however I really don't want one if that makes any sense LOL ... I guess you could add rambling to the list of syptoms LOL

Any suggestions???
