Hey Kristilu!!!

Like before, I'm glad to see you back!!!   It looks like you have a good determination this time and I really hope that you can keep that inspiration to make this your last quit!!!

Sometimes it takes that "light bulb" to go off in your brain to give you some real motivation to finally get 'er done!  I finally had one of those moments last March and I haven't looked back!!!  Keep that motivation in the front of your thoughts for the next few days and you CAN get throught the worst of it and be well on your way to your final quit!!!

Keep telling yourself that you ARE a NON-SMOKER now!!!  Keep using positive thoughts about why you quit and wanted to quit!!!  Keeping it positive is a real key in getting through these first few days!!!

Get on here and post....  A LOT!!!   You always seemed to do better when you were communicating with your newest bestest friends here!!!

And remember, it's OK to be crabby if you want to be crabby!!!  You are in a fight for your life and sometimes it really takes getting pissed off to keep ahead of that darn nicodemon!!!  It will go away as you get an upper hand on the beast!!!

Congratulations on quitting again, and stay with us this time!  Even if something happens, be it a slip or whatever...  get right back on here and let us know what is going on and let us help!  You WILL be able to keep your quit this time if you stick with us!!!    SO, POST BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT LIGHTING UP.....PLEASE!!!!!

         Jim

Thanks yall!  The day is proving to be Hell Day!!!  I am really being tested today.  Whether it's my new assistant who has successfully screwed up everything he touches today or bad news coming in to my personal life, the hits just keep on coming.  I feel like every moment is critical right now.  But, I'm wearing a patch, so I guess I'm learning that my smoking was an emotional crutch.  Scary when you think about how deep the addiction goes. I'm just taking it minute by minute and hoping I can get by.  And oh by the way , the junkie sux!  She is such a little liar and a backstabber!  I don't want to be her friend anymore

Hi Kristilu.  Welcome back - I'm glad to see you're giving it another shot.  Stick close and really rely on the members and moderators here - there are tons of success stories, so don't be afraid to ask for help.  You'll recognize a lot of us from when you were here before, so there's the proof that this addiction can be beat.

Another suggestion for you - take 10 minutes and watch Lisa's (Kylisa41) quit video.  As sad and upsetting as it is to watch, it's defintely the most powerful reinforcement that I have ever experienced to remain smoke-free.

As Goofy used to say - "Let's get this done".

lol I still get those "i'm going to the store" thoughts and then I giggle and think oh yea I don't smoke anymore. It REALLY does get easier but I aint going to lie it does take time. What you are going thru now is what we here call Hell week , never forget this week cause when you are tempted later on in your quit the memories of this week will help you not to give in to smoking, no one wants to re-live Hell week.

Lisa

Well, I made it through several "that's it i'm going to the store" moments this morning.  I just kept reminding myself that if I did smoke there was a big chance that I'd be laying on my death bed way before I wanted to, just when I should be enjoying retirement etc....  And how my kids would resent me for continuing to smoke even though I knew it was bad.  I reminded myself that every year between my husband and I we throw away 5200.00 at this nasty habit that will cost us 10 times that as we get older.  And I reminded myself of how much better I will feel day by day if I don't smoke.  And here I am, still smoke free.

Who cares how crabby you are, tell them to get the h*** out of your way for the next few weeks..or months.  This is about you, not them.  Way to get through this morning, you are doing it!!
