Hi Kaiser,  glad it is going ok for you.   It is defenately a real roller coaster for awhile.   I had some rough days between day 85 to 100.. off n on, once I hit 100 then it was easier.. I have hit a few craves.. but mainly when I hit my  "BIG" triggers.
 
  I know you can do it this time. Most of us have had  many attempts,   I was over tired and stressed today, and thought, oh it would be nice to sit down and have a smoke... Then I thought... what????  you don't smoke anymore lady.. get with the program.. go sit down and relax... have  a cold ice water.. or cola.
 
  so remain on guard.. but know it is doable....

    Thanks for checking on me.  I am doing ok.  The craves are not so bad that I cannot handel them.  As I said before the NRT was not for me.  As I came off it I slipped every time.  This time I put my foot down and said NO. I didn't think that I had it in me to quit cold turkey but so far so good.  I guess it comes down to wanting to quit more than wanting to smoke as was said before.  Thanks again for checking on me it's nice to know that people who know what you are going through care enough to help you along.

Hi  Kaiser...   I read someplace  when you have a  crave   remember :   H A L T
 
 are you  Hungry or thirsty?   are you angry or anxious?  are you Lonely?  are you tired?   many of these are triggers, but also  they are the same "feeling" as a crave. 
 
 My husband lived in AZ for years.. and he still talks about the orange and grapefruit trees they had..
 
  oranges are GOOD for you, and vitamin C I think helps flush out many of the toxins also.

If it makes you feel any better....
The oranges on our tree (CA) are not all that tasty.
Our tree is an oldie.
I think the ones that are grown for sale are much bigger and flavorful!
 
Oranges are a great reward... keep those hands busy.

   Thanks for the responce.  I will admit that this cold turkey quit has been an emotional rollercoster.  At lunch to day I rewarded my self with a bag of oranges.  If I lived where Goofy does I could pick one from my back yard.

Glad to see you're still going strong despite the intense cravings.
 
Your strong craving for an orange could be a result of one of the following:
  • The body lacks certain nutrients. Because of a nutritional deficiency, the brain will signal which foods are needed to replenish the missing nutrients.
  • Low blood sugar

  • Emotions. Some people crave the "comfort" foods they enjoyed as children when they feel anxious or stressed.

Eating a balanced diet will address any nutritional deficiencies. You may want to consider taking a daily multi-vitamin also.
 
Good thing your craving was for something healthy!

    Thanks for the welcome.  I should have tried this cold turkey stuff a long time ago.  Bonnie you are right when you said somthing clicked.  In my case it was when I smoked my last cigarette on the night of 7/29.  I was coughing and hacking up junk and I said NO MORE!!!.  The craves have been ok so far.  One wierd thing though, last night I had a real strong crave followed by an equaly strong crave for an orange, Where did that come from?

Hi Kaiser,,  yes we were close in dates.   But that is what this addiction is about.... ad we are human.
 
   I read Allen Carr's "Easy Way To Quit Smoking"   for me something clicked... I had to admit to myself ... that yes it is an addiction, and No I couldn't just put them down and walk away.
 
  I didn't start this quit with a whole lot of confidence... but I have gained it along the way.  Now it is just so much easier to not smoke...LOL.... I have rewarded myself along the way. 
 
The last time I saw my Dr.  I can't tell you how Happy he is.. I have given him this site and some information for other patients...
 
remember   N O P E    ( I know that would be my breaking point..)  so I keep N O P E   as my back up...
