Hi Rock and a huge welcome to SSC- well I have to go with what Tresa said, you really have no choice about quitting, if a doc had yelled at me then I would be worried enough to make sure I did it, and it looks like you feel the same!
Rock, you have come to a terrific place for support, as DL said, the members here will support, help and advise you every step of your quit journey if necessary.
We have all been where you are right now and can empathise with every experience so lean on us and share your journey.
I can't really add to the great advice you've already been given, but I can re-iterate one point that Mr Q and Bonnie advocated and that is read Allen Carr, if only for confirmation and affirmation.
I hadnt considered that Carr was part of my quit however I had read his book prior to my quit and I wonder now if it helped with my postive mindset as it really made me question alot of my smoking habits and addictive ways.
Good Luck Rock, I look forward to hearing how its going.
