I didn't do the 12 week program of Chantix. I had a gastro problem the second week or so, went off it, then back on at a reduced dosage. After a couple of weeks, I forgot to take it and did just fine. The craves kicked in at about 100 days or so, I think, but I was able to handle it by doing other things and not think about smoking. Had a bad time at six months and again just recently. I've been using the coping skills I have developed for myself to get over them. They're not gone as yet but are less frequent. But I emphasize that I consulted with my doctor every step of the way. Taking meds of any kind, IMO, should be monitored. If you seem to be having problems, don't quit the quit, talk with your doctor.
