Hi popsmom.....

Okay - here's the news.... After an exhaustive search by teams on three continents, we can safely say, there is no washer and dryer repair manual, that contains a step, that refers to having a smoke in order to repair the unit once it's pooched out.

We looked and looked and looked.... N.O.P.E.

You're gonna do it this time aren't you!!! Damn the stress - full speed ahead!!!

Hi and Welcome aboard.   This is a Great place,  and a good part of the reason I have been successful.

Stuff happens, and breaks down... smoking won't fix it or change it.. LOL  and just think.. you will be saving money ....

I saved up for a lap top as one of my rewards ( well didn't have enough, but hubby kicked in when we found a good sale.)

but I am not spending (burning up... over $100.00 a month.)  I am not burning holes in my clothes.. and my clothes don't smell anymore.

   Welcome to the group... Bonnie

Just wanted to come back after my last post, lol, and say thanks so much to all for their advice.  I did manage to step away for a bit and then come back and find my way around more clearer.  I found the notes about the immediate affects that happen upon quitting and this section made it easier to get thru.  I did have a point yesterday where I wasn't home and thought 1 would feel/taste good, but reminded myself I didn't need it.  I got to ball and sat beside someone having one and that was enough, my craving was gone, lol....I didn't smoke so figure I didn't cheat.  I had a great night, didn't sleep the greatest but didn't feel like getting up for a smoke.  Today has been another good day considering.......dryer been pooching out for couple days, washer pooched out today, hubby moved them both, majorrrrrrrrrr stress going on, and having a smoke crossed my mind once and I just made a joke.  So again, thanks for the encouragement and will keep on reading and enduring........:)

Welcome. this is a great site for support. I can't add much to what has already been said but 'the life you save may be your own or someone you love' I too smoked along time and around all my loved ones without considering I was poisioning them too.
It is not easy but all good things come with a price. You will look back and be so happy you beat an addiction. I like to think I just beat the H#*8 out of one. Makes me feel stronger (which I am).

Welcome to you both- I can only confirm what all the other members have said previously, hang round here, read and ask for advice it really does help.
I came by every single day at the start of my quit and still try and stop by most days as I firmly believe this site and its wonderful members were extremely instrumental in making my quit so manageable.
It is going to feel very strange at the start, but it does get easier, like Goofy, I was a pack and a half girl for 37 years and if we can do it that surely gives hope to others, and let me tell you the reward at the end is so worth any bumps you may find in the road at the start. Each day done is a day towards easier....

Hi, you two! Welcome to the site.   Drink lots of iced water and breathe deeply - you'll both win the battle... lots of great support in here from the members. Just cry "Help!" and stick close to the site... I was online all day when I quit at first... helped enormously!

Popsmom and icandoit...

Welcome to the SSC!! You both are at the right place..

I smoked 2 packs a day for 35 years..If I can quit, anybody can..

Stick close to this site, and always remember to post before you smoke. Wait for at least five responses, and by then your craving will have subsided.

You're on your way to freedom!!! Let's get this done!

Goofy
