Hey Kelly and Patrick!   Thanks for that - it's nice to hear you're missed.  I wasn't away for any reason in particular - I just got hooked on facebooking.   LOL!  I blame Meg.  *nods*

Kelly, it'll be OK.  Thanks so much for the concern.  I have a Dr. App this week, and am thinking of asking for a reference to a counselor or something.  I haven't been physically harmed or anything, just had the bejeabers scared out of me, and i'm having difficulty coping with it.

Patrick, as a matter of fact, I am right now eating some high fiber, low carb pasta that's been saute'd with lots of nummy healthy Kale, garlic, onions, chicken broth, and rosemary.  And a salmon steak.  When i'm done, i'm going to head to the pool for some laps.  I'm, also finally starting to loose some weight!  I got a new doctor who took me off a bunch of my meds, and changed my insulin to one that doesn't force weight gain, and slowly but surely - it's starting to come off!

It's great to see all of you!

Misty,

Its nice to see you post again, I haven't seen you around in awhile.  I hope whatever your trauma was, it gets easier and you can get through it.

Well, i'm almost to my two year anniversary, and I can certainly testify that it does get easier.

This last weekend I went through something very traumatic, and i've felt some relatively strong urges to smoke since then, but as much as I have expected them to become to strong for me to get through, they haven't.  I'm just finding other coping mechanisms - just like I have all along on this journey.

Best wishes going out to all of you - you're doing fantastic.

I am lovin this thread too, thanks Mike!

I am not sure what is in store for me as far as my quit goes because I have used the patch.  I suppose I will experience some withdrawl when I complete the NRT (I am on step 3 - 7mg) but I absolutely feel MUCH stronger now than I did the first 2 weeks or so.  Crossing over the month mark, I felt victorious for sure - I had never gone that long before in the 22 years that I smoked.  So now in addition to wanting so badly to be smoke free I have a few days doing it that I am SO proud of and I don't want to give those back for anything, it really helps me get through the craves I do get - which are getting fewer and fewer.

Thank you to all of you who have posted on this thread, it reminds me where I have been and shows me where I am going!

:)

Jen

i am a huge rocky fan !my kids have given me dvd's of all 6 films.

the last one ''rocky balboa'' was awesome. because even though there was some boxing in it , it was really about all of his relationships .

i know it sounds corny but i've told my wife that the reason i love the rocky films , is because i wish all men loved their wife the way rocky loved adrianne.

rocky used to smoke too , but he also quit.

I love this thread!

Individuals at this site have said it many times before but here is a thread which demonstrates a group of quitters at various stages of the quit process and they are all saying the same thing – as time passes, smoking thoughts reduce and quitting smoking gets easier.

To the newer members of the site and to those who are looking in at present – here is the proof that you are probably looking for!  From Theresa on 10 days through Frankie (95) astrofan (99), Deb (110), goofy (235) to Tresa on 2142 days – ALL saying what you want to hear!

As time passes, smoking thoughts reduce and quitting gets easier!

To Theresa, Frankie, astrofan, Deb, goofy and Tresa, thanks for contributing here! Brenna and Josie also.

Best Wishes

Penitent d1493

PS Frankie, I love your nosey polar bear!!!
