I am 2 hours and 15 minutes away from 1000 days since my last cigarette.  I quit cold turkey, my first and only attempt to quit.  I lived at this site for the first few months.  I only think about smoking now in terms of disgust for the habit and fear of the harm I did to my body.  I learned along the way that I can do whatever I set my mind to.  Place your quit as the highest thing of importance in your life, then stay true to yourself and you will have a good shot at keeping the quit.  Thank you everyone!
My Milage:

My Quit Date: 9/16/2005
Smoke-Free Days: 999
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,988
Amount Saved: $6,593.40
Life Gained:
Days: 105 Hrs: 20 Mins: 50 Seconds: 12
