Fantastic reward, Astro.  You'll love it.  We 'smoke' at least once a month & grill just about every weekend.  It's so fun & the meat is delicious.  Be sure to get a 'smoking cookbook' that has a lot of recipes.  Welcome to month 4!!

Well done, Mike... you might try Maple wood for the smoker --- that's what I used to smoke my hams with way back when I had a property with a barn and an old stripped-out fridge for smoking!   Good for you to actually buy something solid to remind you of how far you've come in your Quit...

Congratulations

patrick

Hey Mike!!

A big CONGRATULATIONS on hitting that 3 month mark!!!  Sure is getting easier, isn't it?  Great reward!!!  I just love my smoker(s)!!  My suggestion is to experiment a bit with the smoking woods!!!  I know down there, mesquite is big, but also do check out the hickory for beef!  My favorite is apple wood because of it's sweet smelling smoke!!!  Cherry is also a big hit, but finding it is very hard here!  Another great smoking wood that is also abundant here is pecan; almost as good as apple in my book!!!  Some other fruit wood may be good, too, but I can tell you to stay away from peach and mullberry!!!  YUCK!!!

Anyways, I wanted to congratulate you again and I'll see ya on the beach real soon!!!  I hope you have a great "Smokin'" weekend!!!

That's a great reward, astrofan!  I was just thinking this morning that this month I will make the final payment on my six-month reward that I gave myself 3 years ago...porches on my house.

Enjoy your grill!

Hey Astro,
Let me know if you need any help!  We're going to be doing some ribs this weekend as well.
Don't forget a bag of the large chunk hickory wood that HD sells as well.
