Dear Lolly,
You were a great inspirition to me when I was first trying to quit. I have the  fears that quitting does not prevent damage already done. I smoked a long time too, I now have 10 months smober.
My thoughts and prayers are with you each day. I often wonder about Pete (Ms. Duffis) who had health problems despite her quit.
I want you to know that I recieved much strength from your post. I know you are strong and you will survive this also. Hugs.

I remember you posting a couple of months ago sending your congratulations, and I saw your meter at over 3 years. I was impressed that you came back to give out good wishes.

Well the good wishes are now going out to you....Positive energy is being sent to you across the Atlantic...

Hi All,

Sorry I have not been on site for a long time.

For those who do not know me...I quit in November 2004 and reckoned I had been lucky and 'got away with' 40 years of smoking with only early symptoms of COPD.

WRONG!  Today, I was told that I have some cancerous cells in my chest cavity....as yet they have no idea what type they are, so I see an oncologist tomorrow, who will arrange to send in a camera and have a 'shufti' (British term, pronounced 'shooftey' meaning a look /see!)  They will take a biopsy and we'll take it from there.

When I quit with the help of this amazing site and huge positive thinking, I thought nothing could be more difficult.  Well I now face REAL positive thinking as I aim to beat this next challenge in my life.

What I want from y'all is the same kind of approach to your quits.  DO IT NOW!  Don't wait for 40 years!  Don't let any of the Addiction's devious voices invade your thoughts! Stay focused and you will win!

I do not know very many of you these days, but the message on this site never changes....YOU CAN DO IT!!!  Support each other and stay positive!

NEVER LOOK BACK.  THE FUTURE IS AHEAD!!!

Love Lolly.
