The Swiss Cheese Method: Your project/task is the cheese. Poke holes in it. Little by little, you will complete it!
If you are having trouble getting started, just do one tiny little part. For instance, if you feel like you have to clean the bathroom, but you can't get started, just go in and straighten the towels or wipe out the sink. If you can't get started on exercise, just go outside and walk around the yard for 5 minutes.
Think about priorities: does it really have to be done right now? Does ALL of it have to be done right now? How important is it in the total scheme of things?
Make an A-B-C list. A's are the things that must be done today. B's are the ones that you'd prefer to get done today. C's are the things you'd do today if you have time, but it won't hurt to put them off until tomorrow.
Do chunks: When you have a big job...like totally cleaning a room...clean like crazy for 15 minutes, then stop and give yourself a little break for 5 minutes, then start cleaning again for 15 minutes.
Buy a tiny little spiral notebook and carry it with you everywhere. When you have those stray thoughts...(need to remember to buy cheese, go to the post office, etc.), write them in the little book.
