Hey ML .. Hope your hanging tough ..I'm wondering if quitting you have to go thru all the stages and all the seasons ..Every season we have different habits and probably how we associate that habit with smoking . Hi ML sorry to have missed you yesterday when you posted. Am glad you talked with your doc. As we talked about before, those cigs acted a way to cope with a lot of things. I am glad you got your resolve back and feel free to keep yelling here if it comes back up. It's strange to have found this post today because yesterday and all day today so far I too have had the worse cravings. Not the usual kind which come and go, the kind which stick with you ALL day long. I know exactly what you're feeling and it's simply exhausting. I am in a constant state of stress related issues so I can somewhat see where you're coming from. I just keep doing my deep breathing exercises, stay busy with lots of chores, errands, writing here or in my home journal and munching down on my favourite treats.. Stay strong as you've got such a great quit going ! Strength in numbers :) :) Peace :8o: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,080 Amount Saved: $486.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 4 Mins: 51 Seconds: 42

Thank all of you for your support. I'm hanging in there and glad I decided to post my feelings rather than hold it all in until I lit that ciggie. I did see my doctor today (routine visit) and we discussed it somewhat. We both think it's caused by stress caused by an underlying emotional problem, which she thinks is the basis for a lot of the stuff I've been going through for some time now. Anyway, I walked out of her office with new resolve. ML, Continuing pushing forward and use those coping mechanisms. Is there anything triggering this? Take some time to explore this and get to the root of the problem. Josie, Health Educator

Hi there ML, It seems that I have noticed more craves when the seasons change. I don't know why it would be, but that is when I would crave the most. Pull out them ol' coping skills and before you know it the craves will be gone. Don't give in, you have come to far!!! We are here for you!!! Hi ML and good choice on posting your urges instead of acting on them. Wow--it seems as though what you are going through has come up quite a few times recently with quitters with some great stats under their belt. They all do come back to say--that it does go away & some have said it goes away. ML--you've got a great quit under your belt. Please re-read your reasons for quitting & get back to the things that helped you most early on. How about an extra reward to remind yourself what a fabulous thing you are in the midst of.... We are here cheering for you & asking you to stay with us on this journey to freedom....you can continue--one minute, one hour or day at a time----YOU CAN DO THIS..... {{{{{hugs}}}}} Deb My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,710 Amount Saved: $384.75 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 13 Mins: 46 Seconds: 41
