Wow. It goes without saying that I'm just awfully saddened by this news. While I've never been lucky enough to be able to communicate with anyone outside the formal structure of these boards, I still feel a great friendship with many of you. Bubba was most assuredly, as someone mentioned, an icon. Just the stats alone are something I brought up to several of my friends as something to strive for and a significant mark of honor. I can only take comfort in knowing that had it not been for his quitting and my own - I would have never had the absolute honor of being touched by him. He had always been here when I joined this site and was just one of the many that made me realize the reality of smoking. I also admired the fact that you stuck around here long after you really needed to....knowing that there would always be new members to help and wisdom to be shared. as for me i dont even know where to begin, Bubba was here, among my others quitters and Helpers almost 5 years ago now. He held my hand the whole way, we emailed alot and talked alot on the phone, his voice i will always remember. I called him OLE WISE ONE. When he came up missing i always knew it and would go in search of him, he was usually sick when this happend,just before i left for a 3 week trip to calif. i tryed emailing and Calling but found out he was sick again, i will forever keep in my heart the Memory of my friend Bubba and know he is resting in peace with the love of his Life Judy. No more struggles my friend , I will miss you always my No Puffin Friend and will miss our fire side chats as you called them.
