Cigarette smell

16 years ago 0 1107 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
come on Anna, Fes up! I was at a bar with my daughter last week, and when we left, I could smell the smoke on us. I asked her if I always came in smelling like that, and she said YES!! I told her how sorry I was, and she'll never have to deal with it again. The smell, for me at least, is overwhelming. My wife said she kind of enjoys it. She hasn't smoked in 21 days, and still wants one all day long. She told me tonight that she really misses it. Have a great night. Hmmm. I'm not one of "them" BUT cigarettes just smell nasty, especially when you smell it on someone's clothes or hair. I would never say anything to them because people were generous enough not to lambast me for it when I smoked but...YUCK! I was talking with a coworker as he smoked last week and tried not to grimace as it wafted all around me. I admit there are fleeting moments when it isn't as bad but generally - no thanks. I think I felt differently during year 1 though. Ditto kiwi, 3 & 1/2 years quit and happy NOT to be one of "those x-smokers" - Gee, I inflicted it on others for long enough and like kiwi, the smell doesn't bother me either. Just Stay Quit!! Penitent d1280 :)

Hey Eddie, you're not crazy..... at least not yet anyway. It's a choice we make, to be or not to be - one of 'those' you know..... x-smokers. fyi, Cigarette smoke doesn't bother me either, in fact i quite enjoy the odd wiff.. Congrats on the 1 month nicotine free - which by no means is no mean feat. LOL, Don't worry Eddie, it will come! At first it didn't bother me either, which was great because I didn't want to be, "one of those ex smokers". But after about four months it started to bug me, and now if I am around alot of smokers, I can smell it long after they are gone and it really bugs me now! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 258 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,450 Amount Saved: $2,721.90 Life Gained: Days: 31 Hrs: 13 Mins: 53 Seconds: 21

I've been reading a lot of the old post here, and a lot of members have stated that they now hate the smell of cigarette smoke. Am I the only one who's not offended by the smell of cigarette smoke? When hanging out with my smoker friends, I have not gone out of my way to avoid smelling it. I seem to 'enjoy' it, but not enough to make me want to take a puff. Is this crazy? btw - I am almost one month nicotine-free.
