Need to get back on track

Thanks everyone for all your support. I had gotten big headed I think, I was finding it ok and thought that I could control it. I thought the voice telling me to smoke was my own, but I know now that it was my addiction. I'm sucking on mints and drinking cold water at the moment. Feel like I'm back in hell week My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 56 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,288 Amount Saved: 476.56 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 16 Mins: 51 Seconds: 16

ICL--keep reminding yourself you HAVE a choice & are in control of whether your meter keeps rolling or it begins over again. YOU ARE IN CONTROL--keep reminding the junkie that the negative thoughts--- they are just that & nothing will be fixed from smoking--most people say it makes them feel worse. So refresh your memory on the precious reasons you listed to be motivated to quit. And keep reminding yourself the nicodemon is underhanded & will try almost any thought to get his fix. BE STRONGER THAN HIM. I can tell by your stats that YOU CAN DO This. Just get over this hump --water, deep breathing & lots of time on the SSC should be a great place to start. Remember THIS CAN BE DONE... {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} Deb My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 39 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,170 Amount Saved: $263.25 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 12 Mins: 37 Seconds: 16

Back to Basics ICL Lots of cold water, pamper yourself, give yourself a special reward for not smoking today, and tell that *&%)&* junkie to shut the hell up! because you're not a smoker anymore! ICL, those cravings will stop as long as you keep quitting. Straight up - I haven't craved in months. and I never wanted to quit either. Just make up your mind, N.O.P.E. not one puff ever - and you will do it. I hope you do :) Sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 342 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,420 Amount Saved: $598.50 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 9 Mins: 19 Seconds: 33

ICL, Good to see you back here, posting and looking for support. It helps when we know we're not alone or being judged. Try not to focus on what the junkie wants you to think you're giving up. Focus instead on the FREEDOM you will regain! hey guys, thanks for all the advice. I was ok till after lunch and just had major carvings but I'm not going to smoke. Its scary how easy it is to go back to the dark side. I feel awful today, just exhausted. Need to have a bath and take it easy tonight. I'll check in later! ICL I have been missing you. we are so close in quit dates.. I am SOOOOO SOrry you smoked.. I have had "junkie thoughts" and I had a couple days from hell.. and thought about caving.. What got me through was the thought of the disappointment my family would have, and also I did not want to turn that meter back to ZERO. I sat in the car CRYING and swearing. and praying.. and telling myself lighting up is NOT going to change this situation. The cat will still need surgery. If I smoke then I am burning $$$$$$ and I will still need to get through this.. and then I will be needing to feed the nicotine craving, I will smell like stale smoke again, and on top of the cat needing vet care and surgery.. I will be looking for that next cigarette... my life/freedom will be gone and I will be looking for that next nicotine fix.. and spending $$ ON smokes... and they just raised the prices again. YOU know the program, you already threw them away... stay close, post reply, scream whatever it takes.. PLEASE PLEASE keep those things away from you... I consider you one of my quit buddies since we are soo close in quit dates. What will it take.. I will pledge to you.. NO smoking.. the time differences may be off for us... but I pledge if I have a craving I will come here and YELL for help.. I will wait for messages from all the wonderful people here.. and I will look for one from YOU. Ican't tell You how much more committed this quit became, how many people have cheered me up, listened to me, are heere for me.. whe I need a HUG I get one, as well as when I need shaking, and a gentle kick in the shins I will get that too. Smoking is an Option... and YOU CHOSE LIFE.... stick to it bud, buck up.. and don't let those thoughts sneak in.. you dropped your armor, now pick it up.. and remeber NOPE. make some index cards. cut them to the size of a pack of smokes.. carry them around, and when you have a crave.. pull them out and read them.. write our names on one... we all care .. and want you smoke free and celebrating..
