Not really quit ?

16 years ago 0 802 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hey Peace. Congrats on your stats - you're looking great! I used the patch for the full 10 weeks, and also had people inform me that I wasn't "quit" until I was fully off them. I remember posting here with the same question you asked, and got the same answers you got - YOU ARE QUIT! I don't know if you've had the pleasure of meeting "Unhooked" (a wonderful SSC member), but I remember her saying something along the lines that unless you roll the patch up, stick it in your mouth and set fire to it, you are officially quit! Yep, I totally agree with Bear! Screw them! You have an awesome quit going! I used the patch for the first 70 days of my quit. I don't know if I would be as successful as I am if I had gone CT. Somehow I doubt it! Keep doin' what you're doin'! It's workin'! :) Faith My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/23/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 100 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,500 Amount Saved: $1,200.00 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 9 Mins: 56 Seconds: 7

Thank you all ever so much for your support on this 'issue'. I feel I've come very far this time around on many levels and I was just getting so sick and tired of hearing the same remarks about using an NRT that it was getting under my skin. Now I wonder why I even bothered telling them. I figured .. or shall I say I expected an abundance of real time support from them and I'm not. It kind of saddens me but their words are not going to break my spirit ! They are uneducated, and self absorbed... SOOOOOO ... POOH ON THEM ! HA ! :eg: Thanks again everyone. And Bear.. I love the "screw them" comment.. hehehe... Peace :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 540 Amount Saved: $243.00 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 2 Mins: 54 Seconds: 13

Peace - you're doing great and don't let anyone convince you otherwise. The only people that would say such uneducated, stupid things about using NRTs are either smokers who are jealous that you've quit or people who've never smoked and have no idea what they're talking about. Bottom line - You Rock!!!! Peace, Congratulations on making the decision to quit! We're here to help you, like others have said, do whatever it takes to make this work. If you need a NRT, there is nothing wrong with that and if you decide to go with a NRT, you are quit! We believe in you! Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

Wow, I can't believe that these people are so self absorbed that they can't see your quit for what it is. You've almost got a full month of not smelling bad, regaining your sense of taste, and just plain not having to run somewhere to light up. You are doing great, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!! There are always going to be people that just don't have the support "Gene". It's OK, you'll show them when you stay quit. Keep up the good work. Hi Peace, don't listen to those people, you can do this...you ARE doing this. I am also using an NRT and glad I am or I could never do this. Hang in there, we're close to celebrating 1 month smoke free!!
