How about that? You deserve to be well congratulated, especially by your non-smoking coworkers. I think it's actually kind of funny, because no one I work with thought my wife and I could really quit. Now they know better, and on occasion I go outside to see the smokers. Believe it or not, they offer me cigarettes! I has gotten a lot easier to turn them down. Hang tough, Denise. You are doing an awesome job! Denise, One of the best things about this site is that there are a lot of people who feel exactly the way you do. People who never smoked can't understand the process it takes that quit. Those that still smoke, can't understand either. You are doing great! Congratulations on your awesome quit! Have you rewarded yourself? Oh, thank you both! I was feeling kinda silly for even asking! But Audrey has a good point, in that the people who do smoke at work sort of look guilty when they go out, at least when they notice me nearby. I guess I didn't really think of me as a reminder, but maybe I can think of myself as a role model! Hey, How Cool is That? Hugs to you both, and I WILL take that chair, thank you Sue, in about 19 days! I give a s*** Denise and I have watched you struggle and your meter says 81 days so give yourself an extra pat on the back OK? You have gone far this time! I know what your are feeling with the lack of support though. Mostly I think it is because most people we know either have never smoked or smoke, so they either don't understand or see you as a reminder that they should quit. Profound huh! Hi all, I'm having to toot my own horn here. The nurses at work all say, oh, 80 days? You're done with smoking now. My husband quit drinking 7 years ago and I think he (conveniently) forgets what it was like to struggle in the early days. My coworkers don't give a sh*t, my friends never smoked and so don't come close to understanding, my boss has changed my entire assignment to one that's way less than what I've been doing for years, and I'm feeling quite underwhelmed at the moment. I feel really good in my quit; I feel strong, calm, and committed. I just think it would be nice to get some positive feedback.
