Hi Ellis, just stopping by your thread to say Hi. I am "working" on changing thoughts and ideas into positive thoughts .. my husband sometimes can say things.. in a negative light, so even when responding to him, instead of getting caught up with the negative thinking, I am trying to turn it around to where the positives could be... There are some good books out there.. and maybe some used ones with daily affirmations.. at a Thrift shop or used book store. What you are going though is not easy. Sure hope the doctors can get your meds working for you. Having a couple friends and a family member with bi-polar is a blessing. You see if I didn't know what happens with them when their meds are messed up, I wouldn't understand what you are going thru. We all carry a cross, do it with dignity. You show us there is hope and help with such a monster as bi-polar. Lainy gave you some excellent advice. We are what we see ourselves as. Today you can choose to see yourself as winner, a nonsmoker etc. Congrats on 10 weeks. Elaine, Lainey has great advice for you, try channeling your negative thoughts into positive ones. It may also help if you journal your ideas and put them on paper. Stay positive and breath free! Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

Elaine, just a thought, you know how when we feel crummy we tend to self talk that way..."I feel crappy" etc etc.or tell others those things. Try self talk to change how you feel. "I am feeling better every day, I am in control of my life, I am a non smoker. I am relaxed and calm. I am safe and OK! I can do this!" Try it,, it really does work! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 374 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,350 Amount Saved: $3,945.70 Life Gained: Days: 49 Hrs: 2 Mins: 14 Seconds: 2
